Timber Design

Crafted timber structures, furniture, and CAD models that balance traditional joinery with modern buildable precision.

A sophisticated photographic-realistic rendering of a custom timber dining table, crafted from a single slab of European oak with a live edge subtly softened and meticulously sanded. The surface shows complex cathedral grain and a matte hardwax-oiled finish. The table stands on minimalist, interlocking timber trestles that reference classic Japanese joinery, all set in a serene, uncluttered interior with smooth concrete flooring and a muted grey wall. Large north-facing windows provide even, diffused daylight that gently reflects off the tabletop, revealing fine surface detail without glare. Framed using the rule of thirds from a slightly elevated side angle, with just the table and a blurred hint of a timber bench in the background, the scene communicates quiet luxury, craftsmanship, and functional elegance.
A close-up photographic-realistic study of an exposed timber connection where a massive glulam beam meets a solid oak column through a perfectly cut housed mortise and tenon joint, secured with tapered hardwood pegs. Fine saw marks and subtle chamfers catch the light, revealing the workmanship. The connection is set within a minimalist interior of smooth white plaster walls and a charcoal concrete floor. Soft side lighting from a nearby floor-to-ceiling window creates gentle highlights along the wood grain and casts refined shadows that articulate the geometry of the joinery. Shot from a low, tight angle with a macro-like perspective and shallow depth of field, the composition feels intimate, precise, and reverential toward traditional timber construction techniques.

Design Package

Most projects begin with a Concept & Feasibility phase (typically $1,500–$3,500) where we clarify scope, structural approach, and preliminary joinery details. A second Design Development phase (from $3,500) refines full timber layouts, connections, and CAD models ready for fabrication or engineering review. Larger custom structures and furniture collections are usually quoted as fixed-fee packages once the brief and scale are defined, while smaller one-off items may be billed hourly with a minimum engagement.

Full Project

Because every timber frame and custom piece is unique, we provide budget ranges early in the conversation to ensure alignment. Standalone CAD modeling or shop drawings usually start around $1,200, custom furniture commissions from $2,500, and full timber structure design packages typically start at $6,000 and scale with size and complexity. After an initial call and shared reference material, we prepare a clear, phased proposal so you can choose the level of service that best fits your project and investment.
